Bolivia's hydrocarbons and energy minister Luis Vincenti has sworn in José Gutiérrez as deputy hydrocarbons industrialization, transport and storage minister; Zenón Delgadillo as deputy energy development minister; and Raúl Leaño as deputy power and alternative energies minister.
Vincenti asked the new authorities to advance efforts to industrialize and diversify the sector. The country must shift away from being just an exporter of raw materials, a ministry release quoted the official as saying.
Challenges include correcting the energy matrix to tap natural gas resources to replace the use of LPG in vehicles and homes; and developing wind, biomass and geothermal projects, he added.
