London-listed GeoPark (AIM: GPK) has submitted an EIA with Chile's environmental evaluation service (SEA) proposing a 30-well development program on its Fell block in the southern Magallanes region, according to a document available on the SEA website.
The US$74mn development project is planned for the M-1 sector of the block, located 190km north of the city of Punta Arenas.
The project is slated to start on June 30 and each well will take 30 days to construct, with a planned period of operation of another 30 days.
If any of the wells drilled under the program lead to production, GeoPark will submit further EIAs for that purpose.
Chile's state oil company Enap has submitted an EIA to drill exploratory well Las Truchas D on its Cruceros block in the Magallanes region, according to another document filed with the SEA.
If the US$1.1mn project is approved, the NOC will spud the new well 62.3km to the north of the city of Punta Arenas near the community of San Gregorio on July 1 this year.
The well will require related works including a drilling platform, access road and drilling equipment.
Enap has submitted a separate EIA for exploratory well Quirquincho A on its block Dorado Riquelme, also in the Magallanes region.
If approved, the US$3.5mn well will be spudded on August 1 and will also be located near the community of San Gregorio.
The well will require all of the usual associated works and, if successful, may result in the construction of a pipeline, for which another EIA will be submitted.
