Brief: Ecuador pipeline overhaul nears completion

Ecuador's national oil company Petroecuador is in the final stage of a project to modernize and revamp stations along the Esmeraldas-Santo Domingo-Quito multipurpose pipeline.

The overhaul is due to wrap up by year-end and will guarantee the supply of oil derivatives to the Santo Domingo, Beaterio and Pascuales terminals by implementing new electricity-driven pumping systems at the Esmeraldas, Santo Domingo and Faisanes stations, the NOC said in an update.

Petroecuador added that the new systems will increase flow, lower pollution and reduce spending on spare parts.
