Copasa launches US$41mn flood control, sanitation tenders

Brazil's Minas Gerais water utility Copasa (Bovespa: CSMG3) has launched three tenders worth a total 83.6mn reais (US$41.3mn) to improve sewerage treatment services and flood control infrastructure in the southeastern state. Priced at 60.6mn reais, the largest project involves flood control works in state capital Belo Horizonte and neighboring city Contagem. Work will be carried out near the General David Sarnoff and Cristina avenues, the Juscelino Kubitschek expressway, and Água Branca and Arrudas rivers. Interested parties must have experience installing up to three flood control reservoirs with a total capacity of at least 369,000m3. One should have capacity of 227,500m3. Proposals are due on July 16 and work is set to last 27 months, according to the procurement notice. *** The second tender, budgeted at 14.7mn reais, entails expanding the capacity of a wastewater treatment plant in the town of Manga. Companies must have experience installing a wastewater treatment plant with a minimum flow rate of 10l/s. Offers for the 20-month project are due on July 11. *** Finally, the utility called an 8.30mn-real tender to upgrade the Veneza wastewater treatment plant in the city of Ribeirão das Neves. Interested parties must have experience building a concrete facility with a capacity of at least 41l/s. Work will take 16 months and offers should be submitted on July 9.
