Monday, January 3, 2011

Chilean tech holding company Quintec will increase its presence in Latin America by providing support solutions for Chilean retail holding Cencosud, Quintec reported in a release, without revealing the price tag of the contract.

For three years, Quintec will provide year-round 24/7 support in English, Spanish and Portuguese to Cencosud retail workers. Through its support, Quintec's technological services will be available to 30,000 Cencosud users throughout Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Peru and China.

Contracting Quintec for this service will improve various operations, including total cost of ownership and economies of scale, according to Andres Artigas, systems manager in charge of regional services management for Cencosud. Artigas added that this service will help Cencosud standardize its services at the regional level, enabling it to operate under the same standards in each country.
