US contact center platform provider Aspect Software has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Latin American businesses of channel partner and compatriot contact center solutions firm Corsidian, the former reported in a press release without disclosing the purchase price.
According to Aspect, the agreement will entail acquiring Corsidian's businesses in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and Puerto Rico, with some 100 employees. The acquisition is expected to be completed later in the second quarter.
Corsidian has been one of Aspect's top-producing channel partners and has experts certified and trained on the latter's products. Once the acquisition is complete, Corsidian will be the base of sales and service functions in Latin America.
Through its partnership with Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT), Aspect said, it will bring unified communications and collaboration capabilities to regional contact center customers.
Aspect expects the more direct presence in Latin America to increase its competitiveness in the region, where it said consultancy Ovum projects the contact center market will see compounded annual growth rate between 9% and 10% from 2010-15.
