Chile-IT opens office in Bogotá

Thursday, October 27, 2011

Chilean IT industry promotion initiative Chile-IT has opened an office in Colombian capital Bogotá, the organization said in a statement.

The decision to open a new office in Colombia is related to the country's growth in recent years, and particularly the development of the Vive Digital inclusion plan, Chile-IT executive director Gordana Stojkovic said.

Chile-IT, as a platform supporting Chilean IT firms seeking to enter other markets, is looking to address the increasing offshoring demand in the region. Chilean companies NovaRed, Switch Comunicaciones and Adexus will be part of Chile-IT's platform in Colombia.

The initiative was kicked off mid-2009 by industry association Acti, together with state development agency Corfo, and helps promote sales of Chilean IT companies abroad.

Positioning Chile as a provider of IT products and services to US firms has been the organization's overarching goal.

Chile-IT's members include Coasin, Synapsis, Excelsys, Ki Technology, Datco and Eticsa.
