Chile will host the fifth Latin American Google press summit (GPS) next year in Santiago, local digital news source Emol reported.
The latest summit was hosted in Bogotá, Colombia, where more than 10 countries from the region participated.
Although the exact date has yet to be defined, the event is expected to take place sometime between April and May. The first GPS took place in Mexico in 2008, in São Paulo in 2009, and last year's was hosted in Argentina.
Latin America is a strong market for Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) and, according to consultancy comScore (Nasdaq: SCOR), a total 90% of searches in the region during March were done through Google.
