The power authority in Argentina's Santa Fe province, EPE, has begun implementing a new management system representing a 25mn-peso (US$5.86mn) investment, the provincial authority said in a statement.
The Argentine branch of Chilean IT solutions provider Synapsis is under contract to implement the system, which is expected to take up to two years.
Under the contract, Synapsis is responsible for developing, providing and maintaining an ERP platform for the accounting, finance, logistics and HR departments, and a commercial IT system for customer service, meter reading and tracking, work orders and billing.
EPE - the country's third biggest power distributor, serving nearly 1mn customers - has said it plans to invest 250mn pesos in 2011.
