Indian IT firm Genpact (NYSE: G) has launched operations in Colombia, where it will provide business process management services, the company said in a statement.
The launch falls under the Colombian government's efforts to promote outsourcing services as one of the 12 economic sectors that make up the national production portfolio.
In its new facility in capital Bogotá, Genpact will begin providing large-scale finance and accounting services, as well as procurement and supply chain business process services.
This location will also be established as Genpact's Latin American hub for its smart decision services business, encompassing analytics, reengineering and risk management services.
Genpact expects to grow the center to 1,000-1,500 employees over the next 3-5 years.
In August, the company started operating in Brazil, providing finance and accounting services to pharmaceutical company Astra Zeneca, located in São Paulo, as well as IT services to a financial services client.
