IBM saw its Americas revenues grow 10% year-on-year to US$11.2bn for the second quarter of 2011, according to financial results released by the company.
Overall, IBM reported global revenue of US$26.7bn during Q2, up 12% year-on-year, or 5% higher adjusting for currency.
BRIC countries - Brazil, Russia, India and China - with a 27% rise led the growth markets' overall 23% revenue increase, or 13% adjusting for currency, in Q2.
Without providing hard figures, IBM said growth markets revenue represented 22% of the total for the second quarter.
Company CEO Samuel Palmisano said hardware, software and services revenue rose by double digits, and systems and software led the way, achieving 17% growth.
