IBM Argentina is the first branch of the company to implement a social network platform for employees who use Twitter, Facebook and other microblogs, people familiar with the situation told BNamericas.
The platform, called Blue Point, is only available for IBM Argentina employees, "but there's another Latin American country that is interested in implementing it," according to an executive from Social Snack, IBM Argentina's social collaboration solution provider.
The idea behind Blue Point is to allow users to have all Tweets and Facebook comments on a single platform and to organize the information by sectors.
The platform allows users to see comments from IBM experts regarding business solutions, cloud computing, software and hardware, which are organized into categories such as smarter world, infrastructure, smart work and industries.
"A collaboration platform inside a company has the power to unite people, to turn knowledge into innovation," said Sergio Loza, executive for IBM Lotus in Latin America.
Currently, Blue Point is followed by more than 3,150 users. IBM Argentina has 2,100 followers on Twitter.
