Mobility seen pushing sales for 71% of Latin America's manufacturing industry

About 71% of manufacturing companies in Latin America have increased their sales with the implementation of mobility solutions, according to the results of US firm Motorola Solutions' (NYSE: MSI) 2011 Enterprise Mobility Barometer.

In addition, 83% of the surveyed companies related mobility with increased efficiency and productivity of employees.

In light of these benefits, 77% of manufacturing companies have increased investments in mobile and wireless technologies in 2011 when compared to last year.

Particularly in the manufacturing sector, rugged handheld computers are expected to post one of the highest growth rates, with 16% in 2011 and 37% next year; as well as mobile VoIP devices, with 24% and 54% growth respectively.

Motorola Solutions' 2011 Enterprise Mobility Barometer included companies from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico - the four largest economies that represent 74% of Latin America's GDP.
