Brazilian software development company Nexxera has launched a new division, Nexxera Business, to expand its client base in the financial and mercantile sectors, the company said in a statement.
Nexxera president Edson Silva said the move will eventually make the company one of the top five in its class.
Luiz Dutra, former vice president of Latin American broadband and IT services provider Diveo, which was purchased last month by Brazilian internet service provider Universo Online (UOL) (Bovespa: UOLL4), will join Nexxera Business as its executive VP. He has 21 years of experience in the IT industry.
"We intend to increase the revenues of the [Nexxera] group exponentially, with a strong focus on longtime customers and clear, ethical and profitable relationships for both sides," Dutra said. "For this, we will restructure the pre-sales and sales area of the group to support our growth efforts."
The new Nexxera unit will focus on other Latin American countries, particularly Colombia, where Nexxera already launched its international expansion program, in addition to Brazil.
