US Linux operating systems provider Red Hat (NYSE: RHT) has launched its CloudForms solution for infrastructure as a service (IaaS), the company said in a statement.
CloudForms allows for the establishment and management of private and hybrid clouds, integrating applications lifecycle to leverage cloud computing flexibility and control applications in the cloud.
It also enables the creation of hybrid clouds, combining existing resources, virtual and physical servers from different providers, and several public clouds.
"This is very different from cloud products done by exclusive virtualization suppliers, which focus on the management of virtual machines, not applications," said Red Hat's VP and general manager of the cloud business unit, Scott Crenshaw.
