Latin American IT products distributor Aktio will conduct a road show in Argentina's Córdoba and Mendoza provinces, with a focus on holding meetings with channel partners, the company said in a statement.

In Córdoba, the event will take place June 23 at the Sheraton Hotel.

Aktio, a unit of Brazilian IT firm Grupo Açao, has offices in Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia and Chile. The company provides solutions from manufacturers such as Oracle (Nasdaq: ORCL), IBM (NYSE: IBM), CA, Lenovo and US software firm Novell.

Argentine ICT chamber Cicomra will organize the TICs 2011 congress in Buenos Aires, the chamber said in a statement.

The conference will take place August 23-25 at the Hilton Buenos Aires.


Argentine PC manufacturer EXO has supplied 620,000 laptops for students under a government contract, the company said in a statement.

The laptop, called EXOmate, is manufactured exclusively for the education segment.

EXO manufactures notebooks and netbooks, and also offers consulting and training services.


Portuguese revenue assurance solutions provider WeDo Technologies is the main sponsor of the event Revenue Assurance & Fraud Management Caribbean, Andean & Central America 2011, taking place in Panama City, the firm said in a statement.

A total of 200 specialists will participate in the event.
