Roundup: comScore sports study, NCR, IDC

Argentina ranked as the 10th largest global market in terms of the percentage of people visiting sports websites, with more than half of all online users in the country visiting such a site in May, according to a study by comScore.

The study also found that OLE.com.ar ranked as the most-visited sports website with more than 2mn visitors, followed by Gran DT and Canchallena.com.

US ATM and self-service solutions provider NCR (NYSE: NCR) posted revenues of US$1.31bn in the second quarter, a 12% increase compared to the year-ago period, the company said in a statement.

The financial services segment generated Q2 revenue of US$729mn, a 15% increase from the second quarter in 2010. Growth was evident across most geographies, including Latin America and the Caribbean (CALA), NCR said.

Worldwide semiconductor revenues will grow 5% in 2012 and achieve a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6% for 2010-15, according to a recent study by consultancy firm IDC.

Coming off a strong recovery in 2010, semiconductor revenues will grow modestly in 2011 to US$303bn, according to the midyear 2011 update of IDC's Semiconductor Application Forecaster (SAF).
