Farmacias Ahumada (FASA), the largest drugstore chain in Latin America, has extended its subscription to DemandTec's Everyday Price Optimization software service on the network to its retail stores in Chile, the latter said in a statement.

FASA began working with DemandTec in 2007 and currently uses Everyday Price Optimization in Mexico and Peru. With the extension into Chile, FASA will use the service to price items across all 1,200 retail stores.

DemandTec software and analytical services use a science-based platform to model and understand consumer behavior.

Gerber Technology, a business unit of Gerber Scientific (NYSE: GRB), is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its Mexico City-based subsidiary, the company said in a statement.

Gerber provides sales and service to more than 1,500 customers in Mexico and throughout Central America via its offices in Mexico City and Torreón; its agents in Aguascalientes, Guadalajara and Monterrey; and field service engineers based in Guatemala, the Yucatán Peninsula and Ciudad Juárez.

The company's global Software Solutions business offers product lifecycle management (PLM), product data management (PDM) and CAD automation solutions for the retail, footwear and apparel businesses.


Argentine software chamber Cessi is participating in the Tecnópolis exhibition, the chamber said in a statement.

Tecnópolis takes place in Buenos Aires from July 15 to August 22. It focuses on the history of science and technology in Argentina.
