Spanish IT firm Indra has won a contract to modernize Peruvian state-run oil firm Petroperú's business process platform, Indra said in a statement.

The total value of the contract is US$13.5mn, the Spanish firm said.

The contract includes the implementation of a new ERP on a SAP platform to manage finance, commercialization, logistics, maintenance and refining - all key areas of the company.

Indra will allocate 40 staff for the project, which has an execution period of 15 months, with three additional months for support.


The Chilean unit of IP connectivity provider Global Crossing (Nasdaq: GLBC) will organize an IT and business forum in capital Santiago, with the main topic being cloud computing, the company said in a statement.

The forum will take place May 31 at the W Santiago Hotel.


Emerson Network Power, a division of process management automation company Emerson (NYSE: EMR), has appointed Manuel Fernández Pollán as sales VP for Latin America, the company said in a release.

The executive holds a degree in industrial engineering from Spain's Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and previously worked for telecoms giant Telefónica.


US firm Revelation Software Concepts (RSC) has signed a strategic alliance with NetPartners International, a Latin American firm and SAP services partner that focuses on systems consulting, the former said in a statement.

The partnership will expand distribution of RSC change control products via NetPartners engagements across the Americas, enabling users to reduce costs, manage risks and reduce resources related to the application lifecycle management of their SAP solutions.
