Puerto Rican bank Popular has chosen UK IT services firm Logica to implement the Logica All Payment Solution (LAPS), the latter said in a statement.

The solution will offer Popular real-time and central processing for payments to the US Federal Reserve - based on the SWIFT code - as well as verification of money laundering and financial messaging.

Logica will work with a partner to implement the IT system for the bank to provide support in executing the service.

Chilean IT firm Synapsis has been certified by SAP for its cloud services offering, joining other 12 companies worldwide and two in Latin America, Synapsis said in a statement.

The certification recognizes Synapsis' expertise in data center services considering quality criteria and capabilities required by SAP for the delivery of services based on cloud infrastructure.

Synapsis has previously been SAP certified in hosting, services and channel partners.

Global software and IT consulting provider LogFire has opened new facilities in Chilean capital Santiago, the company said in a statement.

According to the company's founder and executive president, Diego Pantoja-Navajas, with this new office LogFire looks to improve services provided to Chilean and Latin American clients.

LogFire provides supply chain services software and IT consulting services for the retail, consumer goods and logistic companies.

Global digital marketing solutions provider Lyris is now offering its cloud-based email marketing platform Lyris HQ in Spanish and Portuguese, the company said in a statement.

The availability of a localized product allows the company to extend its global footprint to serve Spanish and Portuguese-speaking customers with service, support and training.

Customers represent a range of industries across Latin America, including retail in Chile, non-profit in Argentina, e-commerce in Brazil, publishing in Colombia, business services in Ecuador and hospitality in Mexico.
