Argentine software provider Sistemas Bejerman racked up 166 new customers for its business management solution PROweb during 1Q11, the company announced in a statement.

The solution, sold under the SaaS scheme and designed for SMEs, was launched just under two years ago. More than 600 companies and professionals currently use it.

The Uruguayan unit of Indian IT services firm Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will hold a job fair on May 20-21, the company announced.

IT professionals with experience in .Net, functional testing and project management, as well as a good level of English, are invited to visit TCS to leave their CVs, see what job offers are available, be interviewed during the day and possibly receive a job offer.


SAP (NYSE: SAP) has named Latin American IT consultancy firm Neoris as a global services partner, the first time a Latin American firm has reached such a category.

Neoris' SAP practice has grown at nearly 40% a year for the last five years, the company said in a statement.

Neoris offers systems integration, custom application development, IT consulting, and software deployment and support solutions.


A total 24 projects from Latin America won prizes at Intel's (Nasdaq: INTC) International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), which took place in Los Angeles, California, from May 9-13, the company announced.

More than 7mn high school students compete around the world in local science fairs to qualify for the ISEF, and 1,500 are invited to attend the event to present their research and compete for more than US$4mn in awards and scholarships.

With Latin American delegations from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico and Peru, 91 students showcased 53 projects. Of the total, Brazil took home the most prizes, with 11 projects being rewarded.
