US business information exchange and interconnect OSS/BSS solutions provider Telarix will start providing its iXBrasil billing solution - a version of its iXTools software module - to operators in Brazil for use in managing their national billing, the firm said in a statement.

Telarix said iXBrasil is available to operators throughout the country as a software as a service (SaaS) solution.

The Mexican foundation for health (Funsalud) has employed US software firm SIMUL8 simulation software to understand the economic burden of obesity in Mexican children, the latter said in a statement.

Funsalud used the research's findings to determine what form its health services will need to take to cope with future demands and the costs of associated treatments, the company said.

The foundation used SIMUL8 simulation software not only to project the future costs of obesity in Mexican children, but also to visualize the impact the demand would have on service requirements in the health system and to highlight areas for improvement, SIMUL8 added.


The worldwide external controller-based (ECB) disk storage market recorded revenues of US$5.1bn in the second quarter of the year, up 11.6% compared to the year-ago period, IT research firm Gartner said in a statement.

In the second quarter of 2011, Asia-Pacific and Latin America outpaced the overall market, growing 27.9% and 22.4% respectively, Gartner said.


US developer of distributed content capture and workflow solutions Notable Solutions achieved 35% growth for its fiscal year ending June 30, the company said in a statement without providing hard figures.

The company's annual performance was driven by record software license, maintenance and service revenue in its North American, Latin American and European operations.
