SAP (NYSE: SAP) expects to grow at least 35% in Latin America's business intelligence (BI) segment this year in terms of new licenses, SAP BusinessObjects division senior VP for Latin America, Emilio Mariño, told BNamericas.

Mariño said SAP's business intelligence segment expanded some 60% in new licenses in 2010, but he was unable to provide information on the revenues generated by the market last year.

"We are the leaders in the business intelligence market globally, and we also lead this market in Latin America," the executive said.

"We see a lot of potential in the business intelligence field, as our installed base in Latin America is very big,'" he added.
