Smart Network taps Globalweb Data Centers to support Latin American expansion

Telecoms consultancy Smart Network Solutions has chosen Brazilian IT services firm Globalweb Outsourcing Corp for its data center collocation, the latter reported in a release.

Globalweb "has one of the most robust and redundant buildings in Miami and provides us with a turnkey solution for our growth expectations throughout Latin America," said Carolina Díaz Hoyos, CFO for Smart Network Solutions.

In the US, Globalweb offers data center services at sites managed by CoreSite Realty Corporation, which gives Globalweb access to CoreSite's 11 data centers in seven US cities. Meanwhile, in Brazil Globalweb has offices in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte.

Smart Network Solutions contracted Globalweb for space at CoreSite's Miami data center, as well as for Globalweb's managed data center services.

Earlier this year, Brazilian IT firm Benner Sistemas merged with local IT group TBA to create Globalweb Corp, with a focus on cloud computing and outsourcing. The company has more than 750 employees.
