Collaboration tools provider Smart Technologies (Nasdaq: SMT) is expanding its product assembly operations in Mexico, local media outlet eSemanal reported.
The company will transfer all the assembly operations of its interactive whiteboards from Ottawa, Canada, to its contract manufacturer in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico.
The move is expected to finish before year-end.
The company currently assembles the 600 series interactive whiteboards in Mexico, and will now include the multi-touch, multiuser 800 series.
Smart will continue working with its contract manufacturer in Mexico to assemble products and distribute them in the Americas.
