Softline International launches local operation

Russian software and IT services company Softline International has invested US$500,000 to launch operations in Peru, the firm said in a statement.

The local subsidiary expects to move US$1mn by the end of the first quarter of 2012.

The company will work with several IT giants, including Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, Citrix, VMware, Symantec and Kaspersky, as well as graphic software companies such as Adobe, Corel and Autodesk.

Founded in 1993, Softline focuses on distributing software licenses and services including integration, consulting, technical and legal support, and IT outsourcing. At a global level, the company distributes products from 3,000 vendors.

Softline International expects its Latin America revenues to expand 30% this fiscal year, ending March 2012, company regional director Igor Petlyakov previously told BNamericas. The company also sees revenues from Latin America accounting for 3-5% of the global total this fiscal year.

In Latin America, the firm also has operations in Argentina, Colombia and Venezuela.
