Revenues from the software and IT services market in Uruguay are expected to grow 24% this year compared to US$615mn last year, local newspaper El País reported, citing data from the country's software chamber Cuti.
Software and IT-related service exports will also experience growth during this year, Cuti president Alvaro Lamé said without providing hard numbers.
Last year, software exports reached US$225mn, up 8.8% compared to 2009, Lamé said.
Central and South America accounted for 55% of Uruguay's software exports in 2010, with Argentina, Brazil and Chile being Uruguay's largest makets, according to the paper.
