Spanish ICT firms eyeing Latin America's largest market

Spanish secretary of telecommunications Juan Junquera has started lobbying Brazil's government to support the international expansion of 11 Spanish ICT companies in Brazil, local media from both countries reported.

The lobby comprises representatives from companies everis, GMV, IECISA, Indra, Telefónica and Telvent, and five SMEs - Abada, Guidance, Media Planet, SAI Wireless and Tractis.

Among the negotiation's objectives is creating a consortium to identify key areas of activity and partnership possibilities. One focus is ICT use in the health sector and e-government.
