Thomson Reuters - an international provider of financial, healthcare, legal, media, science, and tax and accounting products and services - has acquired Brazilian IT solutions provider Tedesco Tecnologia, the former said in a statement without disclosing the purchase price.
Tedesco, based in São Paulo and with an office in Porto Alegre, provides IT solutions for corporate legal departments and law firms in more than 30 countries.
Tedesco will continue offering customized solutions to its existing customers and will look to increase its penetration in the Brazilian market, as well as in other Latin American countries.
"The acquisition of Tedesco Tecnologia allows Thomson Reuters to introduce smarter workflow solutions for our clients," said Thomson Reuters' president for Latin America, Gonzalo Lissarrague.
Tedesco's management team will continue to lead the company's operations, according to the statement.
In the last year, Thomson Reuters substantially increased its presence in Latin America through several acquisitions, including legal publishers such as Abeledo Perrot in Argentina, Legal Publishing in Chile, Revista dos Tribunais in Brazil, and Argentine software provider Sistemas Bejerman in August 2011.
