Brazilian commercial vehicle company Empresas Randon tapped local IT services firm Tivit to manage the implementation of a new enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, the companies announced in a statement.
Tivit plans to complete installation of Randon's new SAP system by October. The project includes hardware and backup services, and oversight for two data centers, one of which will be dedicated to disaster recovery. Tivit also will be responsible for supporting Randon's SAP system over the contract's seven years.
Randon CEO Carlos Roberto Nascimento attributed the move to his company's needs for greater cost control, security and operational stability. Randon selected Tivit for the latter's technical and commercial flexibility, as well as its experience with industrial companies.
Tivit, meanwhile, expects the industrial sector's demand for IT solutions to increase as the vertical experiences continued growth, according to vice-president of IT infrastructure outsourcing Armando Lins Netto.
