Brazilian software development group Totvs (Bovespa: TOTS3) expects higher adoption of cloud-based services in Southern Cone markets next year, the company's commercial director for the region, Carlos Oettel, told BNamericas.
"We are trying to boost the adoption of cloud-based services in these countries. I think that we have anticipated this issue, and we have several cloud-based solutions in our portfolio," Oettel said.
"We are also seeing that the companies are starting to accept the concept of cloud, and during 2012 we'll see a more rapid adoption. We are seeing a trend in the IT field to move toward a service concept."
Last year, Totvs and IBM signed a global agreement for providing cloud-based ERP solutions in a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model to companies within the SME segment. This offering is available in Argentina, Chile and Colombia, and Oettel said that during 2012, it will be also available in Australia and India.
Totvs' Southern Cone unit encompasses operations in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay.
