Brazilian IT solutions firm Stefanini's expansion of its training unit, following the recent announcement of a partnership to provide Oracle training, is an internal restructuring process focused on expanding to foreign markets, Stefanini Knowledge Solutions business manager Luiz Edmundo Machado told BNamericas.
According to Machado, the restructuring includes designing a new brand and logo, unifying the operations of all the companies recently acquired by Stefanini and creating new business strategies with a more international approach.
"We already are the second most international Brazilian company, after JBS-Friboi, the largest meat processing company in the world. So enhancing that approach is a natural movement," he said.
He also confirmed that further acquisitions by the company are expected.
All such announcements are expected shortly from Stefanini, noted Machado, speaking on the sidelines of the regional Oracle Open World event, taking place in São Paulo.
As part of the company's restructuring, Stefanini Training was just renamed as Stefanini Knowledge Solutions, the executive said.
The unit was created in 2003, initially aimed at training Stefanini's own professionals. But soon after, it was expanded to provide training to IT professionals at other companies as well, looking to adjust university curricula and IT courses to the market's needs.
"Today, more than providing market-tailored training to IT professionals and also to the companies' HR departments, what we're doing is trying to tackle an already perceived shortage in the local qualified labor force," declared Machado.
The Knowledge Solutions manager said that 80% of training courses are "customized" - in other words, the curriculum can be adapted to clients' specific needs and business.
The partnership with Oracle in particular will enable Stefanini to provide training in Oracle technologies starting in January 2012, at first in the cities of São Paulo, Belo Horizonte and Porto Alegre.
Stefanini is the only Oracle Delivery Partner in the market, and the certifications are exclusively designated for Oracle partners.
The courses are mostly aimed at large companies - such as an important major local retailer - and can take from 20-192 hours, depending on the client's needs.
Among the Oracle technologies Stefanini is authorized to provide training in are PeopleSoft, OBIEE, WebLogic, WebCenter, Hyperion and SOA BPM.
