Bolivian La Paz-based telecoms cooperative Cotel has launched cable TV services in neighboring city El Alto, local newspaper El Diario reported.
Cotel's president Fernando Dips said that the cooperative, which kicked off in El Alto's El Kenko area, expected to gradually expand the service to other areas in the city.
In September, local press reported that the cooperative was planning to invest to expand telecoms services in El Alto, including local telephony, internet and cable TV services.
Furthermore, the cooperative deployed a next generation network platform in La Paz in July, through which Cotel offers several telecommunications services nationwide such as IP telephony, data transmission, on-demand video services, broadband and integrated solutions.
