The factory is currently manufacturing an entry-level phone called El Vergatario, being offered by Movilnet.

However, the government also expects Vtelca to produce a mid-level phone as well as a smartphone to compete with the BlackBerry device.

The factory, which is located in Falcón state, is a joint venture between Venezuela's government and Chinese company ZTE.
