Israel Mérida, president of Bolivia's Cochabamba's civic committee, has presented a proposal to Cochabamba department authorities to install a waste-to-diesel plant.
The project would require 13.5mn euros (US$19mn) and use German technology, paper El Diario quoted Mérida as saying. Diesel production would reach 2,000l/h.
In May last year, German firm Techniktransfair presented authorities in capital La Paz and satellite city El Alto with a 35mn-euro project to transform up to 50t of waste into 12,000l of diesel every 24 hours, BNamericas reported at the time.
