Mexico's Grupo Carso (BMV: GCARSO) plans to acquire 32.8% of construction firm Carso Infraestructura y Construcción (BMV: CICSA), taking its holding in the company to 100%.
The conglomerate, controlled by Carlos Slim, will offer to buy the remaining shares in Cicsa for 8.20 pesos each, Grupo Carso said in a release to the Mexican city bourse (BMV). The total amount was not disclosed.
Grupo Carso plans to de-list the company on completion of the acquisition, which will require approval from shareholders and regulators.
Cicsa's portfolio of projects currently includes the Atotonilco wastewater treatment plant, the Tenango-Ixtapan de la Sal highway, the Culiacán bypass and line 12 of the Mexico City metro.
