Minag looks to expand modernized irrigation systems in Puno

Peru's agriculture ministry (Minag) plans to allocate 7mn soles (US$2.57mn) to make modernized irrigation systems more widely available in Puno department as part of efforts to improve water management.

The plan, which falls under Minag's subsector irrigation program (PSI), was launched recently in the town of Lagunillas, state news agency Andina reported.

Minag also aims to work with regional and local authorities to more efficiently improve farmers' quality of life.
