Unesco water resources conference gets underway

Latin American authorities are meeting this week in the Dominican Republic to discuss management of water resources and natural disasters, according to a release from the country's national water authority, Indrhi.

The talks, held June 28-29 and involving more than 30 Latin American countries, will form part of Unesco's International Water Program for Latin America and the Caribbean.

The main focus of the meetings will revolve around actions to improve the sustainable management of water resources and the effect of climate change on river basins and aquifer systems.
