Brazilian power holding company EDB and mining company MPX Mineração e Energia Energia hold equal shares in the 720MW Pecém I thermo plant project. The facility will use two 360MW pulverized coal-fired units. The coal will come from MPX's mines in Colombia. The initiative, together with the MPX Pecém II project, should generate some 8,000 direct and indirect jobs.
