Peruvian polymetallic miner Sociedad Minera El Brocal S.A.A., a subsidiary of Inversiones Colquijirca (owned by local precious metals mining company Compañía de Minas Buenaventuras S.A), engages in the exploration and production of zinc, lead, copper and silver in Peru. The firm's main assets include its Tajo Norte lead-zinc-silver mine, Marcapunta Norte and Marcapunta Oeste copper deposits, and San Gregorio polymetallic property (temporarily suspended). The firm's operations are in Pasco region. El Brocal completed a US$473mn expansion of its Colquijirca mine's concentrator in December 2015. The Lima-based company was founded in 1956.
