Description:

BP Energy do Brasil Ltda., a local subsidiary of British oil company BP, focuses on exploration, production and distribution of crude oil and natural gas, with operations also in energy, biofuels and ethanol production. BP began operating in Brazil with the construction of the lubricant plant Castrol in 1957, since then the company has operated several basins and has participated in projects involving solar energy, drilling and laboratories for biofuels research and development. In 2011, BP took over the company Devon Energy of Brazil, which was renamed BP Energy do Brasil, assuming 10 concessions for exploration and production of oil and natural gas. BP is present in five sectors: lubricants, biofuels production of gas and oil, aviation, and marine fuel, through subsidiaries Castrol, BP Biofuels, BP Energy, Air BP Brasil and BP Marine/NFX.
