Panama City-based Grupo Eleta, established in 1950, has businesses in the telecommunications, energy, real estate and agroindustry sectors. In 2013, the company through its subsidiary Electron Investment S.A. (EISA) won contracts for the development and operation of rural hydroelectric plants Monte Lirio, completed in 2014, and Pando. The projects are located on the Chiriquí Viejo river in Panama's Renacimiento and Bugaba districts.
