Isotron was established in 1989, in order to cover the electrical, instrumentation and control areas within the capital goods business group of the former INI (today SEPI). Said holding company was led by Babcock Wilcox Española (BWE), ISOTRON's main shareholder at that time. Since 2007 it belongs 100% to Isastur.

Isotron has been involved in the development of projects linked to renewable energies since its inception, initially in Spain and later in Chile, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, El Salvador, Aruba, etc. as they have been introduced in different countries.
