Description:
SSA México S.A. de C.V., the local unit of US-based port operator SSA Marine Inc., offers cargo-handling and related services for the movement and storage of various types of cargo; and conventional cargo run-on/run-off services for the transportation of bulk goods, automobiles and bulk cargo. The firm has been present in Mexico since 1995, and has invested around US$1bn in its facilities at Manzanillo, Cozumel, Progreso, Veracruz and Acapulco. The company is currently building the Tuxpan port terminal in Mexico's Veracruz state, on the Gulf of Mexico, which will be able to handle up to 710,000 TEUs. The port will also help boost Mexican automotive sales, with a capacity to handle 350,000 cars a year, and handle steel products such as coils. SSA México's plans include investing roughly US$670mn to expand and modernize its facilities through 2018.
