Transmissora Aliança de Energia Elétrica S.A. (Taesa) is an unlisted company controlled by Brazilian power company Cemig. Taesa is the growth vehicle for Belo Horizonte-based Cemig in the transmission segment; it builds, operates and maintains transmission assets and has a network of approximately 9,803km of transmission lines. With an operation and control center in Brasília, it has 28 concession contracts for energy transmission. In 2015, Taesa was chosen as the best company in Brazil's electric power sector by Valor Econômico newspaper.
