Brazil oil and gas operators plan to invest US$900mn in exploration in 2025

Exploration work plans of oil and gas operators in Brazil call for approximately 5.5bn reais (US$900mn) in investments in 2025, according to a report from oil and gas watchdog ANP seen by BNamericas.  

Identified by the acronym PTE in Portuguese, these plans specify the activities and the respective schedules and budgets for each block under exploration and production (E&P) contracts. 

Among the work foreseen for next year is the drilling of 26 exploration wells, of which nine are offshore and 17 onshore. 

Federal oil company Petrobras is programmed to drill five offshore wells in the Campos basin and two in Santos, and Shell and BP one well each in Santos and Campos, respectively. 

Onshore, Eneva is due to drill 13 wells in the Parnaíba basin, Petro-Victory three in the Potiguar basin, and Vipetro one in the Espírito Santo basin.
