16 international operators showed their interest in investing in the Intracampos II Round, during its promotion in the US and Mexico

This Ministry of Energy and Mines release was published using machine translation.
During the international promotion event for the “ Round Intracampos II” tender, which took place in the United States and Mexico, from October 10 to 14, 16 international oil operators showed their interest in investing in this process. In addition, 14 companies dedicated to energy consultancy and advice maintained a rapprochement at this act.
Private companies interested in investing in the country are from Peru, Colombia, Mexico, the United States, Canada, Scotland and Egypt.
The international launch of the Intracampos Round II, in the city of Houston and Mexico City, was led by the Minister of Energy and Mines, Xavier Vera Grunauer, and the Deputy Minister of Hydrocarbons, Xavier Briz, respectively. Before the investors, they disclosed general characteristics, techniques, contractual modality and legal information of the bidding process.
During this space, Minister Vera described the event as an opportunity to attract investment, with the aim of promoting the country's hydrocarbon sector. As well as, the approach of potential investors, reaffirms international confidence in Ecuador to disburse capital and technological resources.
“President Guillermo Lasso has promoted policies focused on the development of strategic sectors and the responsible use of the country's natural resources. We have solid legal certainty, which makes the opportunity to capture investments for the development of six blocks in the Amazon viable, which in the future can add up to 24,000 barrels of crude oil for national production,” said Minister Vera.
For his part, Vice Minister Xavier Briz pointed out that: “Through Intrafield Rounds I and II, the objectives of rationally increasing crude oil production are met . The execution of new exploratory processes allows the increase of the proven reserves of the country. As a ministry, we project the drilling of seven exploratory wells in 2022, and 12 additional wells by 2023. This undoubtedly marks a milestone because the trend of low exploration activity in the last decade is reversed.”
The National Government maintains a firm commitment to ensure optimal use of the country's hydrocarbon resources, through the application of transparent and competitive processes that focus on generating investment opportunities to promote public works and strengthen social programs. for the benefit of Ecuadorians.
