CEF to finance Piracicaba public transport studies

Brazilian federal bank CEF and the municipality of Piracicaba have signed an agreement whereby the bank will provide 150,000 reais (US$48,500) to help the city carry out studies into projects to prioritize bus transport, the CEF announced. The municipality will provide an additional 30,000 reais for the studies. The projects involve the implementation of exclusive bus lanes that would total 9.5km and benefit 64,000 low-income families. Piracicaba is in Sao Paulo state and has over 300,000 residents.
