SP seeks consultants for water, waste projects

Bnamericas Published: Monday, February 09, 2004
Sao Paulo city's government will accept expressions of interest by March 4 to help draft water, sanitation, drainage and solid waste components for the Jardim Irene das Rosas and Parque Fernanda projects, according to the Sao Paulo municipal government's website. The consultancy includes carrying out an inventory of existing physical information, such as cartography, photogrammetry, geology, rainfall and runoff; a socio-economic survey; and a feasibility study for water and sanitation and essential complementary works. The consultancy falls under the national cities ministry's US$47mn low income sanitation technical assistance project Prosanear, for which the World Bank approved a US$30.3mn loan in 2000. The project aims at achieving integrated, and demand-driven water supply, and sanitation services delivery to the urban poor, within the participating local government agencies.
