Tecpetrol, TDA Sign Technical Assistance Accord

Argentine oil company Tecpetrol has signed a technical assistance agreement with the US government's Trade and Development Agency (TDA) for the study of the type of fractures in hydrocarbon accumulations in the company's El Tordillo block, newspaper La Nacion reported. The TDA will provide US$500,000 and Tecpetrol will provide financing of US$150,000 in order to complete the project, which will include training for company professionals and the transference of technology. The program will be developed next year in the US. The El Tordillo block is located in the northern area of the San Jorge Gulf, and produces some 25,000 barrels a day of oil, making it Tecpetrol's main oil producing area in Argentina. The company has been active in the area with various drilling rigs operating during this year.
